The Daily Love Extravaganza

This is Kris Evans inviting you and your friends to be a part of The Daily Love Extravaganza July 15th-19th!  I have known Mastin Kipp for eight years  and watched him grow into someone very special.  We met while working on a TV project and ended up sitting next to each other on a bus to Palm Springs.  His knowledge and insight was apparent even then.  He would later create The Daily Love which has grown into a wonderful collection of his stories and words of wisdom.  I read The Daily Love first thing everyday to inspire me and remind me to  be of service.

Now I am honored to be one of the speakers on July 19th for Mastin’s Daily Love event. Can’t wait! I hope you will join Mastin and I along with an amazing group of  incredible teachers who have gathered  together in one place to share their experience and wisdom. To be a part of this community is a dream come true. Thanks, Mastin!

I also invite you to visit my new website www.styledinsideout.com where we can explore together our own unique style.  As Coco Chanel once said, “The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.”

Tribes

Styled Inside OutI always liked that word. Tribes. Better than groups. Better than a clan. Maybe I just like the sound. It has a nice ring to it. Seems like it is more cohesive than the others. It’s hard to find the right tribe. The one that will support you but not baby you. That will be kind but be honest. That will be there even when it may be unpleasant. Will love you and laugh with you no matter what.

In this day of electronic devices, it’s hard to find a tribe that isn’t constantly looking at their texts or listening to their voice mails or checking their facebook page. As I wrote earlier I got myself into trouble pressing the wrong button and sending something else for everyone to see. I was embarrassed but more importantly angry at myself for getting sucked into all of the hoopla.

But I digress…Tribes. I’m so busy with work and family I have not been with a group of friends especially women in way too long. I long to get together and throw it down! To laugh and share our lives. I have tried very hard to have my tribe be made up of people I aspire to be. It seems I can find many who are looking for excuses to not really live life to the fullest. It’s easy to find reasons why things aren’t what they would like it to be. It really does take constant work to tell yourself that things can be better. There are better ways to deal with dilemmas and that it is our responsibility to make it happen.

Mistakes

Honest mistakes are made. They really are. Recently I saw something on Facebook someone had sent me and showed it to a friend. They liked it and asked me to send it to them. I must admit, I’m not a whizz at social media and sent it out to everyone. Not my intention. At first, my friend laughed at my mistake seeing the horror on my face. But then as the night wore on, I became more and more uncomfortable with my mistake.
